On October 31, the Hang Seng Index Company announced that the Hang Seng Information Technology Industry Index will be renamed as the Hang Seng Semiconductor Industry Theme Index, and its calculation method will also be updated. The renaming of the index and related changes in constituent stocks will come into effect on November 7, 2025 (Friday). The changes in the calculation method include modifications in the index's purpose, stock selection scope, industry requirements, constituent stock selection method, weighting method, and weight cap setting; new liquidity requirements, theme requirements, and buffer zone; the number of constituent stocks will be fixed at 40. In addition, the number of constituent stocks in the Hang Seng Semiconductor Industry Theme Index will decrease from 45 to 33, with the addition of 11 stocks including CE HUADA TECH (00085) and BATELAB (02149); and the removal of 23 stocks including TRAVELSKY TECH (00696) and TENCENT (00700).
