The report lowered Standard Chartered's credit spending forecast for this year, while roughly maintaining the expected credit loss forecast for 2026 and 2027.
Morgan Stanley released a research report stating that after Standard Chartered (02888) announced its third-quarter performance, its earnings forecasts for the years 2025 to 2027 were revised upward by 11%, 3.5%, and 2% respectively. The target price was raised from 173 Hong Kong dollars to 176.7 Hong Kong dollars, and the rating was maintained as "overweight." In addition, Morgan Stanley lowered its credit expenditure forecast for Standard Chartered this year and roughly maintained its expected credit loss forecast for 2026 and 2027.
