On October 27th, the National Energy Administration held the third energy regulation work meeting for 2025 in Beijing, thoroughly learning and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the Party's 20th Central Committee, implementing the deployment of the national energy work conference, regulation work conference, and other tasks, reviewing annual tasks, explaining institutional policies, exchanging experiences, and arranging key work for the next stage. Song Hongkun, member of the Party Group of the National Energy Administration and deputy director, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
The meeting pointed out that since the third quarter, under the strong leadership of the Party group of the National Energy Administration and the joint efforts of various energy regulatory agencies, regulatory work has achieved remarkable results, effectively safeguarding the energy security and stable supply during peak summer demand, promoting the construction of the electricity market and orderly regulation, accelerating the implementation of important energy plans, policies, and projects, effectively ensuring the energy needs of the people, making new breakthroughs in regulatory mechanism innovation, and laying a solid foundation for achieving the annual target tasks of high quality.
The meeting emphasized that we are now entering the sprint stage towards the end of the year, and all energy regulatory agencies should have a sense of urgency and determination, making every effort to do well in the next stage of work. Efforts should be made to ensure energy supply during peak winter demand, strengthen supply and demand monitoring and early warning, enhance supervision of key supply guarantees, tap the potential for market supply, and handle various energy demands from the public properly. The meeting was held in video format, with Huang Xuenong, the General Director of Regulation of the National Energy Administration, relevant departments, and some officials from units directly under the jurisdiction in Beijing attending the main venue, while responsible officials from outbound agencies and relevant personnel attended the sub-venue.
