1. The Innovation Environment Continues to Improve, Talent Support Strengthened
In 2024, the innovation environment index in our country was 186.0, an increase of 4.9% compared to the previous year, with all five evaluation indicators in this field showing growth.
The scale of science and engineering talent training continues to expand. Among the evaluation indicators, the index of the proportion of science and engineering graduates to the appropriate age population increased by 10.8% compared to the previous year, maintaining double-digit growth for three consecutive years. In recent years, the number of science and engineering graduates has continued to grow rapidly. In 2024, the number of undergraduate and above graduates in science, engineering, agriculture, and medicine in our country reached 3.145 million, an increase of 172,000 compared to the previous year, accounting for 50.7% of the total, an increase of 0.4 percentage points from the previous year.
