On October 24th, data from the Macao Statistics and Census Bureau showed that a total of 29,671,070 inbound tourists visited Macao in the first three quarters of this year, an increase of 14.5% compared to the previous year. However, the number of same-day visitors (17,278,529) and overnight visitors (12,392,541) increased by 24.9% and 2.5% respectively compared to the same period last year. Due to the increase in the proportion of same-day visitors, the average length of stay for tourists decreased by 0.1 day to 1.1 days compared to the previous year; the length of stay for same-day visitors (0.2 days) and overnight visitors (2.3 days) remained unchanged. In terms of visitor sources, in the first three quarters, the number of Mainland Chinese tourists increased by 18.4% to 21,578,479, with individual tourists (11,505,928) increasing by 24.3%. A total of 1,442,328 visitors entered through the "one-week-one-trip," 444,326 through the "one-visa-multiple-trips," and 118,120 through the "group entry and exit" methods. Driven by the 56.9% growth in visitors from Zhuhai, the Greater Bay Area, including the Pearl River Delta nine cities, saw an increase of 24.0% to 10,905,564 visitors. Visitor numbers from Hong Kong (5,479,564) and Taiwan (727,062) increased by 1.4% and 16.5% respectively compared to the same period last year. There were a total of 1,885,965 international tourists in the first three quarters, an increase of 12.4% compared to the previous year. In the Southeast Asian market, visitors from the Philippines (382,851), Indonesia (146,490), Malaysia (121,409), and Thailand (114,933) increased by 10.8%, 14.6%, 3.1%, and 20.8% respectively. Indian tourists (80,917) from South Asia increased by 5.0% compared to the previous year. Visitors from Northeast Asia, including South Korea (382,494) and Japan (116,224), increased by 12.0% and 25.0% respectively. Among long-haul sources, visitors from the United States (112,330) increased by 8.7% year-on-year. By inbound channel statistics, the number of tourists entering through land routes (24,534,804, accounting for 82.7% of the total) increased by 19.5% compared to the previous year, with a 23.1% and 40.0% increase through Border checkpoints and Hengqin ports respectively. The number of tourists entering by sea (2,914,403, accounting for 9.8%) and by air (2,221,863, accounting for 7.5%) decreased by 5.4% and 3.5% respectively. In September 2025, a total of 2,775,130 inbound tourists visited, an increase of 9.8% compared to the previous year; same-day visitors (1,561,568) increased by 19.4%, while overnight visitors (1,213,562) decreased by 0.5%. The average length of stay for tourists decreased by 0.1 day to 1.2 days year-on-year; the length of stay for same-day visitors (0.2 days) and overnight visitors (2.5 days) remained unchanged.
