Chinese railways: National railways transported 3.03 billion tons of goods in the first three quarters, a year-on-year increase of 3.4%.
On October 23, the China Railway announced that in the first three quarters of this year, the national railway accumulated to send 3.03 billion tons of goods, with an average of 185,300 cars loaded per day, an increase of 3.4% and 4.3% respectively over the same period last year.
On October 23, China Railway announced that in the first three quarters of this year, the national railway system had cumulatively transported 3.03 billion tons of goods, with an average of 185,300 carriages loaded per day, representing year-on-year increases of 3.4% and 4.3% respectively. The railway logistics products have been continuously optimized and upgraded, with transportation organization becoming more smooth and efficient, providing strong support for reducing the overall logistics costs of society, promoting the domestic and international dual circulation, and ensuring the stable operation of the national economy.
China Railway Group has earnestly implemented the deployment requirements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council to accelerate the construction of a modern logistics system and reduce the overall logistics costs of society. It has continuously deepened the market-oriented reform of railway freight transportation, optimized product supply, and constantly improved the efficiency and service quality of railway logistics capabilities.
Firstly, key material transportation has been effectively guaranteed. Efforts have been made to focus on key transportation projects such as coal, metallurgical materials, and grains, opening green channels to ensure efficient delivery. From January to September, the national railways transported 1.553 billion tons of coal, including 1.056 billion tons of thermal coal, maintaining a high level of coal inventory for power plants. Metallurgical materials and grain transportation increased by 9.4% and 10.8% respectively year-on-year.
Secondly, the quality of railway logistics services has been upgraded. Great efforts have been made to develop total logistics services, with a total of 1.36 billion tons of total logistics contracts signed in the first three quarters. Demonstrative efforts have been made to create freight train services, improve the quality of train operations, and after the implementation of the new train timetable in the third quarter of this year, the number of inter-bureau freight train routes reached 453, an increase of 17.1% year-on-year. The transportation timeliness has been effectively guaranteed, and the market has shown strong interest, with a continuous increase in cabin orders. Efforts have been made to improve the full-process logistics services, with 172 railway-water combined transport "one-stop" logistics products developed. In the first three quarters, a total of 12.778 million TEUs of railway-water combined transport containers were transported, a year-on-year increase of 16.9%; 143,000 vehicles entered the railway network freight platform, completing 242 million tons of intermodal transportation. The introduction of "railway freight certificates" logistics financial products has improved the quality and capacity of railway logistics financial services, effectively serving the real economy development.
Thirdly, cross-border transportation of goods remains stable and smooth. Increased communication and coordination with domestic customs departments and foreign railway departments have improved the efficiency of border checkpoint operations and customs clearance procedures, ensuring stability and smoothness in cross-border goods transportation. In the first three quarters, a total of 14,500 trips were made by China-Europe freight trains; 10,800 trips were made by China-Central Asia freight trains, an increase of 22.8% year-on-year; the China-Laos Railway transported 4.13 million tons of cross-border goods, a year-on-year increase of 10.4%, effectively promoting international trade and economic exchanges.
In the next step, China Railway Group will accelerate the construction of a modern railway logistics system, deepen the market-oriented reform of railway freight transportation, carefully organize the peak and winter transportation of thermal coal, improve the quality and efficiency of freight train services, expand the full-process logistics of "railway-water-road", ensure the stability and smoothness of the international supply chain, implement flexible and floating freight rate mechanisms, continuously promote the reduction of costs, improvement of quality, and enhancement of efficiency in railway logistics, and contribute to high-quality economic development.
