Hong Kong Land Registry: Hong Kong's land premium for the third quarter is approximately HK$26.81 billion, an increase of 25.8 times compared to the previous quarter.
On October 15, the Hong Kong Land Registry announced the figures for the revision, land exchange, private contract land grant, and site increase in the third quarter of 2025.
On October 15, the Hong Kong Land Registry announced that in the third quarter of this year (July to September), there were around 26.81 billion Hong Kong dollars worth of cases involving land premium payments completed by the Land Registry, which is 25.8 times higher than the 1 billion Hong Kong dollars in the second quarter. During this period, the Land Registry registered 22 contract modifications and 3 land exchange cases, with 4 of them being technical contract modifications that did not involve land premium payments.
Out of the 25 land transactions mentioned above, 4 were located on Hong Kong Island, 17 in Kowloon, and 4 in the New Territories. During this period, 4 sites were granted through private agreements. One of them was located in Sai Ying Pun for office use; another one in Chek Lap Kok was granted to the Airport Authority Hong Kong for airport development; the third one in Tin Shui Wai was granted for non-profit school development; and the last one in Mong Kok was granted to the Urban Renewal Authority for residential development. There were no new sites granted during the quarter.
