On October 15th, Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Lecheng met with Apple CEO Tim Cook in Beijing to discuss topics such as the development of Apple's business in China and strengthening cooperation in the electronic information field. Deputy Chief Engineer of the Ministry, Zhong Zhihong, also attended the meeting.
Li Lecheng stated that China's large-scale market and complete industrial system contain tremendous investment and consumption potential. China will firmly promote high-level opening-up to the outside world, vigorously promote "intelligent industrialization" and "industrial intelligence", and create a favorable business environment for foreign enterprises, including Apple, to further develop. He hoped that Apple would continue to deepen its presence in the Chinese market, actively participate in China's new industrialization process, and cooperate with Chinese industrial chain enterprises for innovative development.
Cook thanked the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for its support of Apple's development in China, stating that Apple will continue to increase its investment in China, further enhance the level and scope of cooperation with China, and achieve mutually beneficial development.
Officials from relevant departments of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology attended the meeting.
