Sun Dong hopes that the Hong Kong Logistics Robotics Research Center and other research centers will continue to leverage Hong Kong's scientific research advantages to promote the application of more groundbreaking technologies. The Hong Kong SAR government will make concerted efforts to create favorable conditions for innovation and technology, realizing the vision of building Hong Kong into an international innovation and technology center.
Recently, at the Smart Technology and Product Launch event of the Hong Kong Logistics Robotics Research Center, Sun Dong, Commissioner for Innovation and Technology of Hong Kong, expressed his pleasure at witnessing the launch of Hong Kong's first independently developed four-legged robot based on advanced artificial intelligence models, as well as a humanoid dual-arm manipulation platform. This launch event closely aligns with the key development strategies of the Hong Kong SAR government, demonstrating the successful collaboration between government, industry, academia, and research.
Sun Dong hopes that the Hong Kong Logistics Robotics Research Center and other research and development centers will continue to leverage Hong Kong's research advantages to drive more breakthrough technologies for practical applications. The Hong Kong SAR government will work on multiple fronts to create favorable conditions for innovation and technology development, realizing the vision of building Hong Kong into an international innovation and technology center.
Sun Dong quoted the Chief Executive's Policy Address mentioning that Hong Kong has strengths in research, funding, data, and talent, with rich application scenarios, making it a potential global hub for AI development. He stated that the Hong Kong Logistics Robotics Research Center focuses on developing applied robotics and artificial intelligence technologies to expand their applications in industries such as logistics. Since its establishment in 2020, the center has been recognized for numerous innovative achievements, showcasing Hong Kong's strong research capabilities to the world. The Hong Kong SAR government will further promote AI as a core industry for Hong Kong's future development, achieving "AI industrialization and industrial AI."
