In terms of news, Oracle Corporation and SoftBank Group are collaborating in the Japanese market to provide secure and scalable sovereign cloud computing and cloud AI training/inference services to various large institutions in Japan.
Both Oracle Corporation and SoftBank have announced that SoftBank will launch its new Cloud PF Type A - a proprietary cloud computing platform and AI computing platform service with significant technical support from Oracle Corporation's Oracle Alloy for the Japanese market. The cloud AI training/inference computing platform is expected to be rolled out in phases. This collaborative service is planned to go live in April 2026 at a large data center in Eastern Japan, followed by another launch in October 2026 at a large data center in Western Japan.
With Oracle Alloy, SoftBank will be able to provide access to over 200 cloud AI computing services and cloud computing services based on Oracle Corporation's cloud infrastructure (OCI) to its vast customer base through its large AI data centers in Japan.
