The Dubai Financial Services Authority and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced today (October 9) that they will co-host the second Joint Climate Finance Conference in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on November 26. As one of the important initiatives to support and promote climate finance cooperation in the Middle East and Asia region by the Dubai Financial Services Authority and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, this conference will focus on "Changing the Future: Green Finance for Sustainable Development", reflecting the shared commitment of Dubai and Hong Kong as two of the most vibrant global financial centers -- shaping the future of global finance through innovation, climate resilience, and cross-border cooperation. Saeb Eigner, President of the Dubai Financial Services Authority, said, "Looking ahead, our collaboration with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority reflects a shared commitment to shaping a more connected, resilient, and forward-looking global financial landscape. 'Changing the Future' is not just a theme, but a call to support the 'Dubai Economic Agenda D33' globally to advance sustainable finance and innovation." The conference will include a fireside chat between Saeb Eigner and Kelvin Chen, Deputy Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, focusing on how to leverage technological innovation, establish policy frameworks, and promote cross-border cooperation to fully realize the potential of climate finance, guide capital towards sustainable projects, and accelerate the global net zero transition. Numerous distinguished guests will participate in panel discussions, covering topics such as green opportunities in the Asia-Middle East corridor and how tokenization technology can bring new dynamics to global transformation. The conference will also delve into the joint research results of the Dubai Financial Services Authority and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority on the role of sustainable debt instruments in expanding climate finance in emerging markets.
