IDC has released the latest report "China Semi-Annual Accelerated Computing Market (First Half of 2025) Tracking".
International Data Corporation (IDC) has released the latest report on the Chinese Accelerated Computing Market for the first half of 2025. IDC data shows that the market size for accelerated servers in China reached $16 billion in the first half of 2025, more than double the market size in the first half of 2024. IDC predicts that by 2029, the market size for accelerated servers in China will exceed $140 billion. In the first half of 2025, in terms of manufacturer sales, Inspur, H3C, and Lenovo (00992) were the top three, accounting for nearly 50% of the market share. In terms of server shipments, Inspur, H3C, and NChancellery were the top three, accounting for approximately 43% of the market share. In terms of industries, the internet industry remains the largest consumer, accounting for nearly 69% of the overall accelerated server market. Additionally, the finance, education, telecommunications, and healthcare industries all experienced growth of over double digits. From a macro perspective, the policy of computing power coupons, with a multi-level support system and investments in the billions, significantly reduced the barrier to entry for local AI computing power. This initiative has driven local manufacturers to transition from single product substitutes to full ecosystem innovation. Compared to the phased demand for commercial deployment in 2024, in the first half of 2025, local AI computing power not only saw growth in deployment size, but also shifted towards competition based on product competitiveness driven by policy and market forces. From the perspective of industry transformation, in the industrial sector, AI servers are being used for real-time process optimization, predictive maintenance, and digital twin simulation to improve manufacturing precision. In finance, they are used for high-frequency trade risk management and intelligent investment research to handle high-dimensional real-time data. In smart healthcare, technologies such as genome analysis and surgery control by Siasun Robot & Automation are being utilized for ultra-low latency and high reliability. Traditional industries like retail, energy, and agriculture are also using edge computing to achieve real-time analysis of offline behaviors and localized decision-making. From a scenario application perspective, AI acceleration technology is driving breakthroughs in autonomous driving. In-car and roadside systems use high-performance computing power to complete real-time sensor fusion and complex environmental perception to support vehicle safety decisions, while intelligent cabins rely on edge computing to enable multimodal interaction and personalized services. In addition, the market size for accelerated chips in China exceeded 1.9 million units in the first half of 2025. From the perspective of accelerated technology, the demand for non-GPU cards continues to grow, with policy support increasing significantly, surpassing GPUs in growth rate and capturing 30% of the market share. From a brand perspective, local chip brands have become more popular, accounting for approximately 35% of the entire market share. IDC's China AI Infrastructure Analyst, Du Yunlong, believes that the Chinese AI accelerated server market is undergoing expansion and local substitution. Breakthroughs are still needed in high-end computing efficiency and ecosystem maturation. The future focus of competition will shift from single-chip performance to system efficiency, open ecosystem collaboration, and cost control of green computing power. Industries need to avoid low-level redundant construction and enhance international competitiveness through technological collaboration and standard optimization.
