The average daily turnover in September was HK$316.7 billion, up 87% from HK$169.2 billion in the same period last year.
The average daily turnover for the first nine months of 2025 was HK$256.4 billion, a 126% increase from HK$113.3 billion in the same period last year. The average daily turnover of derivative warrants for the first nine months was HK$7.7 billion, up 64% from HK$4.7 billion in the same period last year. The average daily turnover of bull and bear certificates for the first nine months was HK$10.1 billion, up 74% from HK$5.8 billion in the same period last year.
The average daily turnover of exchange traded funds for the first nine months of 2025 was HK$34.2 billion, a 163% increase from HK$13 billion in the same period last year. The average daily turnover of leveraged and inverse products for the first nine months was HK$3.6 billion, up 50% from HK$2.4 billion in the same period last year.
There were 69 new listings in the first nine months of 2025, a 53% increase from 45 in the same period last year. The total funds raised from initial public offerings in the first nine months was HK$182.9 billion, a 229% increase from HK$55.6 billion in the same period last year. The total funds raised in the first nine months were HK$444 billion, a 252% increase from HK$126.1 billion in the same period last year.
In the derivative market, the average daily trading volume of futures and options for the first nine months of 2025 was 1,681,869 contracts, an 11% increase from 1,515,613 contracts in the same period last year. The average daily trading volume of stock options for the first nine months was 886,323 contracts, a 27% increase from 698,817 contracts in the same period last year. The average daily trading volume of stock futures for the first nine months was 8,616 contracts, a 7% increase from 8,026 contracts in the same period last year. The average daily trading volume of RMB currency futures for the first nine months was 110,818 contracts, a 25% increase from 88,355 contracts in the same period last year.
On September 17, 2025, the weekly trading volume of stock options reached a historical high of 277,589 contracts.
