The Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced today (October 8th) that as of the end of September 2025, Hong Kong's official foreign exchange reserve assets were $419.2 billion (down from $421.6 billion at the end of August 2025). Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, Hong Kong's foreign exchange reserve assets at the end of September 2025 were $418.9 billion (down from $421.1 billion at the end of August 2025). The total amount of foreign exchange reserve assets of $419.2 billion is equivalent to over 5 times the circulating currency in Hong Kong, or approximately 37% of Hong Kong's currency supply M3.
