China Railway Group also launched the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday transportation plan yesterday (September 29th). As the holiday approaches, the passenger flow continues to increase, with the peak expected to occur tomorrow (October 1st). Last year, on National Day, the number of passengers sent was 21.448 million, and this year's peak passenger flow is also worth noting.
Travelers preparing to travel are paying more attention to the areas with concentrated passenger flow. From the current pre-sale ticket situation, the main areas are still in several major regions, including Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and Chengdu-Chongqing region.
According to data from China Railway Beijing Bureau, it is expected to send 1.5 million passengers today, with Beijing accounting for over 50%. They plan to add 133.5 pairs of passenger trains, mainly headed towards Shanghai, Harbin, Shenyang, Taiyuan, Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Tianjin, and other directions.
The region with the largest passenger flow expected today is the Yangtze River Delta region. The Yangtze River Delta railway, covering the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Shanghai, is expected to send 3.65 million passengers. It is noted that this number has increased by 213,000 compared to September 30th last year.
The Guangzhou Bureau of China Railways will also experience a small peak in passenger flow today, expecting to send 2.663 million passengers, an increase of 146,000 compared to the same period last year, with an increase of 5.8%. In terms of passenger flow trends, it mainly flows from cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Changsha to surrounding medium and small cities as well as tourist cities.
In the Chengdu-Chongqing region, the passenger flow today is mainly focused on tourism, returning home, and students. It has been confirmed that 29 additional night high-speed trains will be added from Chengdu and Chongqing. At the same time, Chengdu West, Liupanshui, Guangyuan, and other stations will operate a 24-hour service mode.
