On Monday, the stock price of NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) quickly rose by over 1.7% during trading hours, with news indicating that the company will co-build an AI data center with OpenAI. Related concept stocks also rose, with CoreWeave (CRWV.US) up over 2.4% and Nebius (NBIS.US) up over 4.6%. OpenAI and NVIDIA Corporation announced their intention to establish a partnership. NVIDIA Corporation stated that they plan to invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI. OpenAI announced that they will deploy the first batch of NVIDIA Corporation systems (artificial intelligence data centers) with a capacity of 1 gigawatt (1GW) in the second half of 2026. NVIDIA Corporation expressed their expectation to finalize the details of the new phase of strategic partnership with OpenAI in the coming weeks.
