The antitrust case just ended, Alphabet Inc. Class C (GOOGL.US) immediately injects "AI soul" Gemini into the Chrome browser.
Google recently announced that it will integrate its artificial intelligence (AI) tool Gemini into the Chrome browser, which will be open to users in the United States.
Alphabet Inc. Class C (GOOGL.US) recently announced that its artificial intelligence (AI) tool Gemini has been integrated into the Chrome browser and is open to users in the United States. Just two weeks ago, a potentially antitrust lawsuit that could have affected the ownership of the browser had just been settled.
On Thursday, Alphabet Inc. Class C officially rolled out the Gemini feature update for Chrome browser to users in the United States. Currently, this feature is only available to users who meet the following criteria: use a U.S. English account to log in to the Chrome browser, have a Mac or Windows device, and have upgraded Chrome to the latest version.
With Gemini, users can generate concise summaries for articles, web pages, or discussion threads directly within the browser to help users quickly grasp the core content.
In addition to Chrome, Alphabet Inc. Class C is also integrating Gemini into other services such as Google Docs, YouTube, and Calendar, and this feature will soon be available on Android and iOS mobile systems.
Mike Torres, Vice President of Chrome, stated in a blog post that in the coming weeks, enterprise users will be able to use the Gemini feature in Chrome through Google Workspace, which will have enterprise-level data security protection and control capabilities.
Torres also revealed, "In the coming months, we will be adding smart agent functionality to Gemini in Chrome."
Earlier this month, in a highly anticipated antitrust lawsuit, a federal court ruled that Alphabet Inc. Class C is not required to sell its flagship product Chrome web browser. Judge Amit Mehta's ruling required Alphabet Inc. Class C to share more data with competitors to promote competition in the online search field; it also specified that Alphabet Inc. Class C cannot enter into exclusive agreements for search services, but can still pay to have its search engine included in relevant platforms.
In other news, earlier this week, it was reported that Gemini from Alphabet Inc. Class C had surpassed OpenAI's ChatGPT over the weekend to become the most downloaded free app in the Apple Inc. (AAPL.US) App Store.
