According to an official statement released on Tuesday, Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN.US) has successfully acquired the broadcasting rights to the Masters Tournament in the United States. They will make their debut as a domestic broadcasting unit next year and participate in the live coverage of this top-tier golf event. As per the agreement, Amazon.com, Inc. Prime Video will collaborate with well-known media outlets such as CBS Sports and ESPN to provide full live coverage of the tournament. Fred Ridley, Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament, stated: "It is an exciting opportunity for the Masters Tournament and its fans to partner with Amazon.com, Inc. in this way. Introducing Amazon.com, Inc. as a partner will further help us expand the presentation of the event and enhance the viewing experience, allowing more people to enjoy the tournament in a higher-quality manner." The statement also mentioned that starting from the 2026 Masters Tournament, Prime Video will add two hours of live coverage each day during the first and second rounds of the tournament. For example, in 2026, the live broadcast will take place from 1pm to 3pm Eastern Time on April 9 (Thursday) and April 10 (Friday). It is known that the Masters Tournament is held every April in the first full week in Augusta, Georgia at the Augusta National Golf Club. It is the only golf tournament among the four major championships that is held at a fixed venue.
