Former US Vice President Al Gore harshly criticized Trump's energy policy: This is a "tragedy" for America!

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore said that the Trump administration is eager to promote increased production of oil, natural gas, and coal on one hand, while on the other hand, they are working to repeal policies supporting clean energy, which is harming America's competitiveness.
Gore, speaking about the annual Sustainable Development Trends report released by Generation Investment Management, described the current situation in the U.S. as a "tragedy". It is worth noting that Gore is the co-founder and chairman of the company.
He pointed out that the current energy policy in the U.S. means that, "as low-emission technologies are widely adopted and commercialized in other parts of the world, one of the most dynamic economies in the world is falling behind".
Gore said in an interview on Tuesday that the current U.S. energy policy is paving the way for China to further expand its dominance in the future low-carbon economy. He added that China's leading position in renewable energy, combined with the U.S. retreat in clean energy technology, will lead to a series of geopolitical implications, including the potential reshaping of global trade alliances.
"The actions taken by the U.S., which many people around the world see as weakening America's moral authority and leadership, have prompted many countries to reassess the closeness of their relationships with China," he said.
It is reported that after Trump returned to the White House as President, he signed multiple executive orders, one of which is called "Unleashing American Energy". This executive order aims to increase U.S. energy supply by encouraging exploration and production of fossil fuels. The White House stated that the goal of this measure is to enhance energy security and promote job growth.
At the same time, the Trump administration has repealed clean energy policies implemented during the Biden presidency, and has made wind energy a key target of opposition.
Gore said that while such policies may "slow down" the pace of energy transition, they will not stop it, and this is unquestionable.
