Morgan Stanley analyst personally tested Tesla, Inc.'s Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature and praised it, saying it completely changes the experience of long-distance travel. In the future, it may become a standard feature.
The analyst has a "Buy" rating on Tesla's stock, with a target price of $410.
Morgan Stanley analysts released a research report, sharing their experience of using Tesla, Inc.s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system for a round trip of about 1400 kilometers between Westchester County in New York and Franklin County in Michigan. The analysts pointed out that during the 1400-kilometer journey, over 99% of the distance was completed by the FSD system in their Tesla, Inc. Model Y. In the nearly 12-hour drive, they did not have to touch the steering wheel or step on the pedals, making it an indescribable experience that can only be understood through firsthand experience. The eye-tracking monitor ensured that they kept their eyes forward, but with much less stress. The FSD did not make any errors or pose any dangers that the analyst could remember, and in their experience, the FSD performed very safely and confidently on the highway.
The analysts added that they could not imagine buying any electric vehicle in the future without FSD or similar advanced ADAS features. This is a game-changing technology that completely altered their perspective on long-distance travel. Additionally, the experience with the Supercharger network during this trip was extremely convenient, with charging stations located conveniently near toll roads or highways, all in safe areas with plenty of amenities, rest areas, and dining options nearby.
The analysts stated that once you get used to FSD, it's hard to go back to a state without it. They believe that FSD functionality will eventually become a standard feature for all Tesla, Inc. vehicles (and all cars) like airbags, included in the overall vehicle price.
The analysts have a "hold" rating on Tesla, Inc.'s stock, with a target price of $410. The components of this target price include: $76 for core automotive business, $159 for network services assuming a 65% penetration rate by 2040, average revenue per user (ARPU) of $200, $90 for mobility services, $68 for energy business, and $17 as a third-party supplier for Tesla, Inc.
