Citibank (C. US) announces personnel appointments, with Lee Lung Nien appointed as the Country Head and Chief Operating Officer of the Bank (CCOBH) in Singapore.
Citigroup (C.US) announced a personnel appointment, with Lee Lung Nien appointed as the Country Head and Chief Commercial Officer for Singapore (CCOBH). He will be responsible for overseeing all of Citigroup's operations and business in Singapore, managing key clients and regulatory relationships, and ensuring a robust risk and control framework. This marks the first time in 50 years that a Singaporean has held the highest position in Citigroup in Singapore. According to the statement, Lee Lung Nien will report to Amol Gupte, Citigroup Inc.'s Head of Southeast Asia and South Asia markets, and will join the Southern Management team for Asia from October 6th. He has been with Citigroup for 35 years, most recently serving as the Chairman of Citigroup Private Bank in South Asia since 2020. Prior to this appointment, Lee Lung Nien served as the Chief Executive Officer of Citigroup Inc. in Malaysia (Citibank Berhad) and held several senior positions in areas such as anti-money laundering, operations, corporate sales and structuring, and markets in locations such as Asia, London, and New York. Lee Lung Nien replaces Tibor Pandi, who has been working in Asia for eight years and has served as the Country Head and Chief Commercial Officer for Singapore and Thailand since 2017.
