Chinese Railways: National railways transported 26.83 billion tons of goods from January to August.

On September 16, according to China Railway News, from January to August this year, the national railway system has transported a total of 26.83 billion tons of goods, with an average of 184,000 cars loaded per day, representing an increase of 3.5% and 4.3% respectively compared to the same period last year. The efficiency and quality of railway logistics have continued to improve, providing reliable transportation support for the sustained recovery and improvement of China's economy. Since the beginning of this year, the railway department has earnestly implemented the requirements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council to accelerate the construction of a modern logistics system and reduce the overall logistics costs of society. It has continued to deepen the market-oriented reform of freight transportation, optimize logistics product supply, improve freight capacity and service quality, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of the economy's major arteries. First, the quality and efficiency of railway logistics product supply have been improved. By closely aligning with market demand, actively integrating into enterprise supply chains, and vigorously developing intercity express trains, bulk direct trains, specialized and new professional logistics, and cold chain logistics, the railway system provides customers with safe, stable, and efficient logistics services. The 95306 railway platform has launched 78 multimodal "single ticket" product routes, and from January to August, the national railway system has transported 11.48 million standard containers of intermodal containerized goods, an increase of 17.5% compared to the same period last year. The quality of railway logistics financial services has been improved and expanded, with customers receiving a total credit line of 23 billion yuan. Second, effective transportation support has been provided for the transportation of key materials for national economic and people's livelihood. The key energy transportation channels such as Daqin, Haole and Lanzhou-Xinjiang railways have been utilized to meticulously organize the transportation of coal from the west to the east, north to the south, and Xinjiang coal exports, effectively helping various regions meet peak summer demands. From January to August, the national railway system transported 1.38 billion tons of coal, including 940 million tons of thermal coal, with the coal inventory for direct supply to power plants by railways maintained at a high level. Third, cross-border freight transportation remains stable and smooth. Strengthening communication and coordination with domestic customs departments and overseas railway departments, promoting the construction of "digital customs ports", improving port transportation efficiency and customs clearance facilitation, and maintaining stable operation of the China-Europe Railway, the China-Central Asia Railway, the Western Land-Sea New Channel Railway, and the China-Laos Railway cross-border freight trains have effectively facilitated efficient cross-border transportation and promoted international trade and economic exchanges.
