It proposed to promote the pilot access and on-road operation of intelligent connected vehicles, and conditionally approve the production access of L3 level automated driving models. This marks a new stage in the development of automated driving in China, with policies paving the way for the commercialization of advanced automated driving.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Automobile Driving Automation Classification" regulations, the core of L3 level automated driving lies in the transfer of responsibility: when the system is operating in its domain of responsibility, the safety subject shifts from the driver to the vehicle manufacturer. To address risks, vehicle manufacturers must build ultra-high redundancy perception systems, imposing unprecedented stringent requirements on perception capabilities. Analysis suggests that laser radar, especially high-line digital laser radar, has become an essential safety component for the implementation of L3 level automated driving. Leading laser radar manufacturers such as ROBOSENSE (02498) are expected to benefit the most.
Speed Up Technology's high-line laser radar product has already been put into mass production. Recently, the new generation of super large five-seat intelligent SUV "Zhiji LS6" released by Zhiji, as well as the ultra-luxury SUV "Jike 9X" released by Jike, both feature ROBOSENSE's 520-line digital laser radar.
Currently, ROBOSENSE is the only manufacturer capable of mass producing 520-line digital laser radar and maintains a leading position in the field.
In the second half of this year, several models equipped with ROBOSENSE's high-line digital laser radar will be successively unveiled. In addition, new generation Robotaxi companies such as DiDi, Pony.ai, and Wenyuan Zhixing have all adopted ROBOSENSE's digital laser radar products.
ROBOSENSE's new generation vehicle-mounted digital laser radar platform, the EM platform, has entered a phase of mass production. Among them, the EMX as the "True 192-line" vehicle-mounted main laser radar is targeted at the L2 level assisted driving market; the EM4 is the industry's only mass producible super 500-line digital laser radar, supporting customizations from 520 lines to 2160 lines, serving high-level automated driving scenarios.
With the clear threshold of L3 level automated driving policies and the continued maturation of technology, the laser radar market is expected to see broader growth opportunities.
