According to the Ministry of Commerce, from January to July 2025, a total of 36,133 new foreign-invested enterprises were established nationwide, an increase of 14.1% year-on-year.
On August 22, according to the Ministry of Commerce, from January to July 2025, a total of 36,133 new foreign-invested enterprises were established nationwide, an increase of 14.1% year-on-year; the actual foreign investment used amounted to 467.34 billion yuan, a decrease of 13.4% year-on-year.
In terms of industries, the manufacturing industry utilized 121.04 billion yuan in actual foreign investment, while the service industry utilized 336.25 billion yuan. The high-tech industry utilized 137.36 billion yuan in foreign investment, with the e-commerce service industry, aerospace and equipment manufacturing industry, chemical pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, and medical equipment manufacturing industry seeing increases of 146.8%, 42.2%, 37.4%, and 25.5% respectively.
In terms of source, actual investment from the ASEAN region in China increased by 1.1%, while actual investment from Switzerland, Japan, and the UK increased by 63.9%, 53.7%, and 19.5% respectively (including investment data through free trade zones).
