On the morning of August 19th local time, Meituan's international food delivery brand Keeta officially launched in the Qatari capital Doha. This is another important breakthrough for Meituan's international business in the Middle East market, following Saudi Arabia.
Keeta stated that, based on our good progress in Saudi Arabia, we chose Qatar as the second stop for Keeta in the Middle East. As one of the countries with the highest GDP per capita in the world, Qatar's food delivery market has huge growth potential. Keeta is committed to providing a better food delivery service experience for users in Qatar, supporting the healthy development of local food merchants, riders, and other partners, and contributing to the growth of the local digital economy.
In the Qatari capital of Doha, Keeta has already supported food delivery orders from many brands such as McDonald's, Happy Bee, and Starbucks.
Since entering Saudi Arabia in the Middle East in September 2024, Keeta has demonstrated its product strength and technological advantages, winning more and more local users' favor with better food delivery services, and bringing additional online order growth to local food merchants. Currently, Keeta has become one of the top three players in the Saudi market.
At the end of July, Keeta further expanded its service coverage in Saudi Arabiaadding coverage in 11 cities on top of the existing 9 core cities, providing services in 20 cities in Saudi Arabia, and basically achieving full coverage.
Internationalization is one of Meituan's long-term development strategies. In the future, Keeta will further expand to more markets in the Middle East, and plans to officially enter Brazil within a few months.
