The penetration rate of AI PCs has exceeded 30%, and Lenovo Group's hybrid AI has entered the "value realization period".
On August 14, LENOVO GROUP released its financial report for the first quarter of the 2025/26 fiscal year ending on June 30, 2025. The quarterly revenue increased by 22% year-on-year to 136.2 billion yuan, reaching a historical high for the first quarter; net profit under non-Hong Kong financial reporting standards increased by 22% year-on-year to 2.816 billion yuan, doubling to 3.66 billion yuan when calculated according to Hong Kong financial reporting standards, significantly strengthening its profitability; all businesses and regions achieved double-digit growth, marking a strong start to the fiscal year. In the first quarter, Lenovo continued to drive innovation in the field of personal intelligence and enterprise intelligence, with research and development expenditure increasing by double digits. As of now, Lenovo's research and development staff have approached 20,000, accounting for 28% of the total workforce. Seizing the growth opportunities brought by artificial intelligence, LENOVO GROUP achieved a strong breakthrough in performance. As early as 2023, Lenovo proactively established a strategic layout covering the entire chain for hybrid artificial intelligence technology, driving the realization of the vision of universal access to artificial intelligence. Recent actions by technology companies such as Meta and OpenAI indicate that artificial intelligence is accelerating into a phase of deep application, creating quantifiable real value for individuals and businesses. Currently, "super intelligence" is becoming a new hotspot for global technology giants to bet on, such as Meta's AI vision, which aims to create personalized super intelligence for everyone in the form of smart glasses, and OpenAI's launch of the new intelligent agent product "ChatGPT Agent." This trend aligns with Lenovo's earlier release of the "Super Intelligent Entity" matrix, deepening the landing of hybrid AI. Simultaneously, the latest outstanding performance of multiple companies, including Meta, and Microsoft, indicates that the AI industry is entering a period of "value realization." Microsoft emphasizes that AI technology has driven breakthrough growth in multiple business areas, and Meta also indicates that AI has significantly improved the performance of its core advertising business. Against this backdrop, this quarter, driven by the dual engines of personal intelligence and enterprise intelligence, Lenovo not only achieved strong performance, but AI also delivered substantial results in revenue contribution. Specifically, in terms of personal intelligence, Lenovo continues to consolidate its leadership in the global AI PC market and has introduced AI PC products with the "Tianxi" personal super intelligent entity in China, strengthening differentiated advantages such as edge reasoning, high energy efficiency, and privacy protection. During the reporting period, the penetration rate of AI PCs continued to accelerate, accounting for over 30% of Lenovo's total PC shipments, with a market share of 31% maintaining its position as the global leader in Windows AI PCs. In China, AI PCs now account for 27% of total laptop shipments. The user activity of the "Tianxi" personal super intelligent entity has significantly increased, with an average weekly active user (WAU) rate of 40%. The accelerated penetration of AI PCs has also driven the simultaneous increase in shipments of high-end PC products and average selling prices. Financial data shows that in the first quarter, LENOVO GROUP's Intelligent Devices Group (IDG) achieved nearly a hundred billion in revenue, an 18% year-on-year growth. The personal computer business achieved the fastest growth rate in 15 quarters, with revenue increasing by over 20% year-on-year, outpacing the market's growth and maintaining a leading industry profit margin of over 8%. In addition, Lenovo is advancing its "one device, multiple endpoints" strategy, using intelligent entity native terminal devices as the entry point for personal intelligence, creating a unified platform for cross-device, cross-ecosystem, and "edge-cloud" collaborative interaction to reshape human-machine interaction in the AI era, providing highly personalized experiences. On the enterprise intelligence front, LENOVO GROUP is building a full-stack AI product system centered around hybrid cloud platforms, intelligent entity management platforms, and industry-specific solution libraries to help customers accelerate the deployment of enterprise intelligent entities. Following the release of the "LeXiang" enterprise super intelligent entity in China, Lenovo is establishing an artificial intelligence model factory and developing an intelligent entity platform to promote the comprehensive implementation of Lenovo's hybrid AI advantage. During the reporting period, LENOVO GROUP's Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) revenue increased by 35.8%, with AI infrastructure business revenue growing by 155% year-on-year, with strong order backlog. The industry-leading liquid cooling technology solution revenue grew by 30%; artificial intelligence solution development momentum was strong, particularly in the manufacturing and supply chain sectors. In May of this year, Lenovo unveiled the Super Intelligent Entity at the Tech World Innovation Conference, which possesses three core characteristics: perception and interaction, cognition and decision-making, autonomy and learning. It ensures the privacy and security of user-side cloud integration, serving as a unified entry point for natural interaction between users and various terminal devices (such as PCs, phones, glasses, etc.), continuously learning and evolving, ultimately becoming the user's "artificial intelligence twin." Lenovo believes that the future of intelligent terminals will no longer be isolated devices but integrated under the user's personal super intelligent entity, forming a human-centered end-side artificial intelligence ecosystem, known as "person-based intelligence." "Looking ahead, we will continue to firmly execute our hybrid artificial intelligence strategy, promote the vision of universal access to artificial intelligence, constantly innovate in personal and enterprise intelligent products/solutions, enhance operational competitiveness, and achieve sustainable growth in profit," said Yang Yuanqing, Chairman and CEO of LENOVO GROUP. In addition, LENOVO GROUP announced that it will host the largest-ever Lenovo Tech World Innovation Conference during the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 6 next year at the Sphere venue, showcasing its latest technological breakthroughs.
