From second to first! EY's Hong Kong IPO audit business surpasses PwC for 24 months, leading the market.
In the past 24 months (August 2023 to July 2025), there were 158 newly listed companies in Hong Kong.
In order to more accurately reflect the real-time performance of Hong Kong intermediaries and make the statistical data more meaningful, RyanBen updates the rolling ranking data of the "past 24 months", "past 12 months", and "first 7 months of this year" every month.
According to statistics,
In the past 24 months (August 2023 to July 2025), there were 158 new companies listed in Hong Kong;
In the past 12 months (August 2024 to July 2025), there were 84 new companies listed in Hong Kong;
In the first 7 months of this year (January 2025 to July 2025), there were 53 new companies listed in Hong Kong.
According to statistics, in the past 24 months, a total of 13 auditors participated in the audit business of 158 newly listed companies.
I. Data for the past 24 months (August 2023 to July 2025)
According to statistics, in the past 24 months, a total of 13 auditors participated in the audit business of 158 newly listed companies.
In terms of the number of participations in the past 24 months, the top 4 auditors are:
Ernst & Young, with 44 companies, accounting for 27.7%, ranking first;
PricewaterhouseCoopers, with 39 companies, accounting for 24.7%, ranking second;
KPMG, with 36 companies, accounting for 22.8%, ranking third;
Deloitte, with 24 companies, accounting for 15.2%, ranking fourth.
These four firms together account for 90.5% of the market share.
Among the 13 auditors, 4 of them only participated in the audit of one listed company, accounting for 30.8% of the total number of auditors (13).
II. Data for the past 12 months (August 2024 to July 2025)
In the past 12 months, 9 out of these 13 auditors participated in the audit business of 84 newly listed companies.
The top four auditors in the past 12 months are:
Ernst & Young, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, with 28, 20, 17, and 12 companies respectively, accounting for 33.3%, 23.8%, 20.2%, 14.3% respectively.
III. Data for the first 7 months of this year (January 2025 to July 2025)
In the first 7 months of this year, 8 out of these 13 auditors participated in the audit business of 53 newly listed companies.
The top four auditors in the first 7 months are:
Ernst & Young, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, with 21, 12, 8, and 6 companies respectively, accounting for 39.6%, 22.6%, 15.1%, 11.3% respectively.
