Hong Kong Monetary Authority: The second Asia-Pacific Climate Business Forum will be held in Hong Kong on September 9th.
The 2nd Asia-Pacific Climate Business Forum (Forum) will be held in Hong Kong on September 9, 2025, providing a platform for focused practical application exchanges to achieve climate goals.
According to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority's announcement on August 7th, emerging markets in the Asia-Pacific region are seeking funds and innovative ideas to develop and implement strategic solutions, promote a more low-carbon, resilient, and inclusive economic growth model, while also creating employment opportunities. The second 2025 Asia-Pacific Climate Business Forum will be held in Hong Kong on September 9th to provide a platform for practical application exchanges to achieve climate goals.
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority mentioned that the forum is organized by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and International Financial Corporation, bringing together over 250 global and Asia-Pacific business and financial leaders. Bloomberg New Energy Finance will serve as the forum's knowledge partner. The forum is the flagship event of the second Hong Kong Green Week. As an annual event for sustainable development in Hong Kong, the Green Week provides a platform for stakeholders globally to engage in constructive dialogues and cooperation on sustainable development.
This year's forum will be held on the eve of the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference in Belm, Brazil in November and will explore how to expand private sector investment, accelerate the green transformation of Asia-Pacific emerging markets, promote climate innovation, address extreme weather conditions, and protect biodiversity while creating and improving employment. Key topics covered include the application of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies in energy transformation, decarbonization in heavy industry, sustainable supply chains, financing schemes for biodiversity and climate adaptation, and the latest trends in energy transition investments in the Asia-Pacific region.
Riccardo Puliti, Vice President of the International Financial Corporation for the Asia-Pacific region, said, "Emerging markets in the Asia-Pacific region have recognized the importance of leading, developing, and investing in local climate solutions. They also realize that partnering with the private sector, leveraging capital and technological innovation, is a key driver of smart development."
He continued, "We are honored to once again collaborate with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and knowledge partner Bloomberg New Energy Finance to hold the flagship event of the second Hong Kong Green Week - the second Asia-Pacific Climate Business Forum."
Eddie Yue, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, stated, "Hong Kong is committed to supporting low-carbon, inclusive, and resilient growth in the Asia-Pacific region." He continued, "We are honored to host the Asia-Pacific Climate Business Forum in Hong Kong for the second consecutive year, bringing together financial and industry leaders to explore feasible solutions to address the common climate challenges. We also look forward to sharing Hong Kong's experience in promoting sustainable finance, supporting the sustainable transformation of supply chains, and developing nature-based solutions on important topics."
