The total value of building sale contracts in Hong Kong in July was 54.6 billion Hong Kong dollars, a decrease of 17.8% compared to the previous month, and an increase of 28.0% year-on-year.
The Land Registry of Hong Kong released the statistics for the month of July 2025 today (4 August). There were a total of 7,212 building sale and purchase agreements submitted to the Land Registry in July, a decrease of 0.8% compared to the previous month and an increase of 37.1% compared to the same period last year. The twelve-month moving average for July showed 5,974 building sale and purchase agreements, representing an increase of 2.8% compared to the previous month and an increase of 21.2% compared to the same period last year. The total value of building sale and purchase agreements in July amounted to 54.6 billion Hong Kong dollars, a decrease of 17.8% compared to the previous month and an increase of 28.0% compared to the same period last year.
Of the above-mentioned agreements, residential building sale and purchase agreements totaled 5,766, a decrease of 3.2% compared to the previous month and an increase of 54.9% compared to the same period last year. The total value of residential building sale and purchase agreements in July was 46.4 billion Hong Kong dollars, a decrease of 24.1% compared to the previous month and an increase of 29.9% compared to the same period last year.
