Hong Kong Monetary Authority: Hong Kong's external assets of foreign exchange funds increased by HK$9.5 billion in June to HK$3,596.2 billion.
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority today released the main analytical accounts of the Exchange Fund as of the end of June 2025.
On July 14, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced the primary analysis of the Exchange Fund as of the end of June 2025. In June, the overseas assets of the Hong Kong Exchange Fund increased by HKD 9.5 billion to HKD 3,596.2 billion. This includes currency reserves, government-issued currency notes and coins in circulation, bank system balance, and issued Exchange Fund bills and bonds. The total amount of debt owed by the Exchange Fund to the private sector in Hong Kong is HKD 349.4 billion, while the total external liabilities amount to HKD 31 billion.
