In the first half of 2025, the total value of building transactions reached 277.03 billion Hong Kong dollars, an increase of 9.4% compared to the second half of the previous year, but a decrease of 1.4% compared to the same period last year.
On July 4th, the Hong Kong Land Registry released the statistics for the first half of 2025. During the first half of 2025, a total of 36,848 sale and purchase agreements for various types of buildings were submitted to the Land Registry (an increase of 12.0% from the second half of last year, and a 5.0% increase from the same period last year). The total value of these sale and purchase agreements in the first half of 2025 was HK$2,770.3 billion (an increase of 9.4% from the second half of last year, but a decrease of 1.4% from the same period last year). There were a total of 46,150 assignment agreements for buildings in the first half of 2025 (an increase of 5.7% from the second half of last year, and a 30.3% increase from the same period last year). The total value of these assignment agreements in the first half of 2025 was HK$2,831.2 billion (an increase of 4.2% from the second half of last year, and a 32.5% increase from the same period last year). The number of searches conducted by citizens in the first half of 2025 totaled 2,247,438 (a decrease of 0.2% from the second half of last year, but a 3.5% increase from the same period last year).
