Safroadu Yeboah-Amankwah, who has been Intel’s Chief Strategy Officer since 2020, will leave the company at the end of June as CEO Lip-Bu Tan reshapes the leadership team

The company confirmed the move, thanking Yeboah-Amankwah for his work since taking on the role in 2020 (Reuters, June 27, 2025). During his tenure, he led Intel’s growth strategy, key partnerships, and corporate investment activities. Going forward, parts of his portfolio will shift to Sachin Katti, now Intel’s Chief Technology and AI Officer, while Intel Capital — the company’s venture investment arm — will report directly to Tan, according to people familiar with the matter.

Since stepping in as CEO in March, Tan has focused on simplifying Intel’s management layers and directly overseeing its major business groups, including data centers, AI chips, and PC processors. He has brought in new engineering talent and trimmed what he views as excess middle management. Tan, an industry veteran who founded Walden International in 1987, is leveraging his deep venture background to revitalize Intel’s push into competitive segments like artificial intelligence.

This leadership transition follows years of operational delays and missed opportunities in growth markets such as mobile and AI. Intel posted a net loss of $18.8 billion in 2024, marking its first annual loss in nearly four decades (Intel Annual Report 2024).
