On June 30th, the "China Railway" official WeChat account announced that the 2025 national railway summer transportation period, lasting for 62 days, will start on July 1st. From July 1st to August 31st, the national railway is expected to serve 9.53 billion passengers, an increase of 5.8% compared to the previous year, with an average of 15.37 million passengers per day. The railway department is actively adapting to the summer travel needs of passengers and ensuring the supply and demand of goods, adhering to the development ideology centered on the people. They have carefully formulated summer passenger transportation plans, optimized the supply of passenger and freight transport products, improved station services, and provided reliable guarantees for safe and orderly passenger travel and stable economic operation. 1. Scientifically arranging capacity to meet passenger travel demands. On the basis of implementing the operating schedule for the third quarter starting on July 1st, the temporary summer train schedule will be synchronized, with 402 additional temporary passenger trains scheduled, and more than 11,500 passenger trains planned to run per day nationwide, a 5.5% increase compared to last year. The capacities of new lines and stations such as the Chongqing East to Qianjiang section and Chongqing East station of the Chongqing-Xiamen high-speed rail, as well as the Beijing-Harbin high-speed rail and Shanghai-Kunming high-speed rail, have been utilized to effectively increase regional passenger transport capacity. By dynamically analyzing the big data from railway 12306, selling ticket strategies have been adjusted flexibly. By adding temporary passenger trains, combining high-speed trains, and attaching more cars to regular trains, capacity has been increased in popular directions, sections, and time periods, especially for trains heading to major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou that are running at full capacity. A certain number of emergency passenger cars and staff have been prepared at major railway hubs to be able to respond to sudden increases in passenger flows. The operation scale of regular passenger trains has been maintained, and efforts have been made to run public service "slow trains" to facilitate travel for people in remote areas. 2. Prominently running tourist trains to promote service and consumption development. In order to meet the needs of the summer tourist market, special tourist trains with different themes such as parent-child trips, educational tours, red tours, and health tourism have been arranged. Tourism trains from Harbin East to Fuyuan and Kunming to Xishuangbanna have been increased in the northeast and southwest regions. Mainline tourist trains connecting North and South Xinjiang within the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have been added to link local delicacies, scenery, and cultural attractions, and to promote the development of high-quality travel life and activate summer tourism consumption potential. The timings of tourist trains have been optimized to shorten travel times and connect with operating hours at tourist attractions in an orderly fashion, offering a "day trip and night journey" experience for passengers. Popular tourist train brands such as the "Panda Express," "Tianshan Express," and "Jinghe Express" have been continuously operated to create a "moving star-rated hotel" and explore more "tourist train+" services to meet diverse travel needs. Organizing international passenger trains between China and Mongolia, Russia, Laos, and Vietnam to promote "cross-border tourism." 3. Enhancing the quality of station services to create a pleasant and warm journey. Continuously optimizing the functions of railway 12306 to improve the ticket purchasing experience for passengers, expanding the application of new types of ticket products such as counted tickets, regular tickets, and tourism package tickets. More flexible discounted ticket prices, with a minimum of 40% off, have been introduced for some high-speed trains, providing more benefits to passengers. Improving on-the-way services such as railway smooth travel codes, quiet cars, convenient transfers, internet food ordering, and "traveling light," strengthening station cleanliness, air conditioning, water supply, and basic services, enhancing the quality of train dining services, and providing good meals for passengers. Enhancing services for key passengers such as the elderly, children, disabled, and pregnant women, improving reservation and response efficiency, opening green love channels, and providing guidance services throughout the journey. Optimizing entry and transfer processes, strengthening guide services during peak hours, at key locations, and facilitating transfers within stations, ensuring safe and orderly boarding and alighting for passengers. Strengthening synergy and coordination with other transportation modes such as buses, subways, and taxis to provide convenient last-mile services for passengers. 4. Strengthening cargo transportation support to facilitate stable economic operation. Leveraging the advantages of centralized and unified command scheduling of railways, utilizing major coal transport channels such as Daqin, Haoji, Warit, and Tanghu to increase the operation of heavy-tonnage trains, ensuring key material transportation such as Xinjiang coal exports, and opening green channels to support various regions in meeting the peak summer demand. Balancing market demand and cargo transport capacity, optimizing cargo product supply, vigorously developing multimodal transportation, and improving the quality and efficiency of railway logistics services to help reduce overall logistics costs in society. Strengthening international intermodal transportation organizations to operate the China-Europe trains, the Western Land and Sea New Channel trains, and the China-Laos railway international freight trains, enhancing port transportation capacity and efficiency to ensure the stability and smooth operation of international industrial supply chains. 5. Enhancing flood control and risk prevention during the flood season to ensure railway operation safety. Strengthening patrolling and monitoring of key flood control locations on railways, conducting comprehensive inspections and rectifying main equipment and facilities such as line bridges, tunnels, communications signals, traction power supply, EMUs, locomotives, and vehicles to ensure their good condition. Adhering to the principle of life first and safety first and actively responding to extreme weather conditions such as heavy rainfall, strong winds, and natural disasters, dynamically optimizing passenger train operation plans, taking measures such as suspending operation, limiting speed, and diverting trains to proactively avoid risks. Organizing railway cadres and employees to strengthen duty and surveillance, refining and improving emergency plans, conducting practical exercises, conducting thorough inspections of equipment, passenger services, emergency response, and so on at the front line to effectively ensure the smooth operation of railway arteries and the safety of people's lives and property. The railway department reminds that the railway 12306 website (including the mobile client) is the official and only authorized railway ticket online sales channel. Passengers are advised to purchase tickets through official channels. Based on passenger demand and ticket pre-sale, standby ticket purchase situations, additional passenger trains will be flexibly increased. Passengers are advised to promptly check train operation information through the railway 12306 website (including the mobile client) and announcements at major stations. Since passenger flows are concentrated during the summer, passengers are urged to plan their trips wisely, travel off-peak as much as possible, allow ample time for boarding, travel in a civilized manner, and maintain a clean, warm, and comfortable travel environment together.
