On June 30th, Zhao Qinghe, a senior statistician at the Service Industry Survey Center of the National Bureau of Statistics, interpreted the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for China in June 2025. Zhao Qinghe stated that in June, the manufacturing PMI rose to 49.7%, with 11 out of the 21 industries surveyed in the expansion zone, an increase of 4 from the previous month, indicating an expansion in the manufacturing sector. The non-manufacturing business activity index was 50.5%, up 0.2 percentage points from the previous month, showing continued expansion in the non-manufacturing sector. The comprehensive PMI output index was 50.7%, up 0.3 percentage points from the previous month, indicating an accelerated overall expansion in business operations in China.

Zhao Qinghe, a senior statistician at the Service Industry Survey Center of the National Bureau of Statistics, provided an interpretation.
In June, the manufacturing PMI, non-manufacturing business activity index, and comprehensive PMI output index were 49.7%, 50.5%, and 50.7% respectively, up 0.2, 0.2, and 0.3 percentage points from the previous month, showing a slight rebound in all three major indices and overall sustained expansion in China's economic outlook.
