Preliminary statistics show that by the end of the first quarter of 2025, the total assets of financial institutions in China were 51.21 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%.
Data released on the official website of the central bank shows that, according to preliminary statistics, by the end of the first quarter of 2025, the total assets of financial institutions in China were 51.21 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.5% year-on-year. Among them, the total assets of banking institutions were 45.899 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.8%; the total assets of securities institutions were 1.527 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.7%; and the total assets of insurance institutions were 3.784 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.2%.
The total liabilities of financial institutions were 46.74 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.5% year-on-year. Among them, the total liabilities of banking institutions were 42.151 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%; the total liabilities of securities institutions were 1.157 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%; and the total liabilities of insurance institutions were 3.432 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.7%.
