According to preliminary statistics, as of the end of May, the total amount of foreign exchange reserves in Macau was 236.3 billion Macau patacas, an increase of 3.1% month-on-month.
On June 16, the Monetary Authority of Macau announced that as of the end of May 2025, the total foreign exchange reserves of the Macau Special Administrative Region amounted to 236.3 billion Macau patacas (29.26 billion US dollars), which is a 3.1% increase compared to the revised total of 229.2 billion Macau patacas (28.68 billion US dollars) in April 2025. The total foreign exchange assets at the end of May 2025 are equivalent to approximately 11 times the circulation currency of Macau at the end of April 2025 or 89.9% of the Macau-specific portion of the broad money supply (M2) in May 2025.
