National Bureau of Statistics: The year-on-year growth rate of the value added of large-scale industrial enterprises increased by 5.8% in May.

In May, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 5.8% year-on-year (the growth rate of value added is the actual growth rate excluding price factors).
On June 16, the National Bureau of Statistics stated in a document that in May, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 5.8% year-on-year (the growth rate of value added is the actual growth rate after deducting price factors). Comparing with the previous month, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size in May increased by 0.61%. From January to May, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 6.3% year-on-year. Looking at the three major categories, in May, the value added of the mining industry increased by 5.7% year-on-year, manufacturing industry grew by 6.2%, and the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas, and water increased by 2.2%. By economic type, in May, the value added of state-controlled enterprises increased by 3.8% year-on-year; joint-stock enterprises grew by 6.3%, foreign-invested enterprises from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan increased by 3.9%; and private enterprises increased by 5.9%. In terms of industries, in May, out of 41 major industries, 35 industries maintained year-on-year growth in value added. Among them, coal mining and washing industry grew by 5.5%, oil and natural gas extraction industry grew by 5.3%, agricultural and sideline product processing industry increased by 7.6%, alcohol, beverage and refined tea manufacturing industry increased by 4.1%, textile industry grew by 0.6%, chemical raw materials and chemical product manufacturing industry increased by 5.9%, non-metallic mineral products decreased by 0.6%, ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry grew by 4.8%, non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry grew by 8.1%, general equipment manufacturing industry grew by 6.3%, special equipment manufacturing industry grew by 2.3%, automobile manufacturing industry grew by 11.6%, railway, shipbuilding, aerospace and other transportation equipment manufacturing industry grew by 14.6%, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry grew by 11.0%, computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry grew by 10.2%, and electricity, heat production and supply grew by 2.0%. In terms of products, in May, out of 623 industrial products above designated size, 326 products had production volume growth year-on-year. Among them, steel production was 127.43 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 3.4%; cement production was 165 million tons, a decrease of 8.1%; ten kinds of non-ferrous metals were 6.83 million tons, an increase of 2.9%; ethylene was 3.03 million tons, an increase of 14.4%; automobiles were 26.42 million units, an increase of 11.3%, including 12.45 million new energy vehicles, an increase of 31.7%; electricity generation was 737.8 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 0.5%; crude oil processing was 59.11 million tons, a decrease of 1.8%. In May, the sales rate of industrial enterprises above designated size was 95.9%, a year-on-year decrease of 0.8 percentage points; the export delivery value of industrial enterprises above designated size reached 1.2682 trillion yuan, a nominal increase of 0.6%.
