Chip sector rises, Philadelphia Semiconductor Index up 1.5%
On Thursday, the chip sector rose, as of the time of writing, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index increased by 1.5%, Micron Technology, Inc. (MU.US) rose more than 5%, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Sponsored ADR (TSM.US) rose by more than 1.5%, Broadcom Inc. (AVGO.US) rose by more than 1.2%, and NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) rose by 1.28%. In terms of news, U.S. Commerce Secretary Raimondo stated that President Trump hopes to establish a complete chip supply chain in the United States. Raimondo said they are striving to build advanced chip factories within 18 months, aiming to produce 5 million wafers during Trump's term.
