On May 19, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in April, the value added of industrial enterprises above a designated size increased by 6.1% year-on-year (the growth rate of value added is the actual growth rate excluding the price factor).
On May 19th, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in April, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 6.1% year-on-year (the growth rate of value added is the actual growth rate excluding price factors). Month-on-month, in April, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 0.22% compared to the previous month. From January to April, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 6.4% year-on-year. Looking at the three major categories, in April, the value added of the mining industry increased by 5.7% year-on-year, manufacturing increased by 6.6%, and electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply increased by 2.1%. Looking at the economic types, in April, state-controlled enterprises increased by 2.9% year-on-year; joint-stock enterprises increased by 6.6%, foreign-invested enterprises increased by 3.9%; and private enterprises increased by 6.7%. Looking at industries, in April, 36 out of 41 major industry categories maintained an increase in value added year-on-year. Specifically, coal mining and washing increased by 6.3%, petroleum and natural gas mining increased by 4.3%, food processing increased by 7.3%, beverage and tea manufacturing increased by 5.5%, textile industry increased by 2.9%, chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing increased by 8.0%, non-metallic mineral products increased by 0.4%, black metal smelting and processing increased by 5.8%, non-ferrous metal smelting and processing increased by 7.5%, general equipment manufacturing increased by 7.8%, special equipment manufacturing increased by 3.7%, automobile manufacturing increased by 9.2%, railway, ship, aerospace and other transportation equipment manufacturing increased by 17.6%, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing increased by 13.4%, computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing increased by 10.8%, and electricity, heat production and supply increased by 1.2%. In terms of products, in April, out of 623 products of industrial enterprises above designated size, 341 products had an increase in output year-on-year. Specifically, steel production was 125.09 million tons, a 6.6% increase year-on-year; cement production was 165.30 million tons, a 5.3% decrease; ten kinds of non-ferrous metals were 6.76 million tons, a 3.1% increase; ethylene was 2.98 million tons, a 10.1% increase; automobiles were 2.604 million units, an 8.5% increase, with new energy vehicles at 1.228 million units, a 38.9% increase; electricity generation was 711.1 billion kilowatt-hours, a 0.9% increase; crude oil processing was 58.03 million tons, a 1.4% decrease. In April, the product sales rate of industrial enterprises above designated size was 97.2%, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points year-on-year; the export delivery value of industrial enterprises above designated size reached 1.2469 trillion yuan, a nominal increase of 0.9% year-on-year.
