In Hong Kong, there were a total of 515 registered transactions for second-hand residential properties in April, with a total value exceeding 10 million Hong Kong dollars. This represents an increase of approximately 30.4% compared to March, and marks a new high for the past year.
Director of the Property Research Department in Hong Kong, Wang Pindi, stated that according to data from the Land Registry, there were 515 registered transactions for second-hand residential properties in April, with a total value exceeding 10 million Hong Kong dollars, representing an increase of approximately 30.4% compared to March, reaching a new high for the year. Given that the time between signing a sales contract and registering the transaction at the Land Registry is usually around one month, the cases registered in April mainly reflect the market conditions in March. As for the impact of the global stock market due to the tariff war, it has not yet been reflected in the registration volume of April in the Hong Kong property market. When comparing the registration volume of second-hand residential properties exceeding 10 million Hong Kong dollars in April in the districts of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories, the Kowloon district showed the most significant increase, with 184 registrations, representing a 33.3% increase from March; Hong Kong Island had the highest number of registrations with 192, a 32.4% increase from March; and the New Territories had 139 registrations, a 24.1% increase from March. Regarding the ranking of residential estates with registrations exceeding 10 million Hong Kong dollars in April, Hoi Yat Garden topped the list with 15 registrations, a fourfold increase from March; Discovery Bay and Sunrise City tied for second place with 12 registrations each, with Discovery Bay showing a 20% increase from March and Sunrise City showing a twofold increase from March.
