Ministry of Foreign Affairs: China and the United States did not hold discussions or negotiations on the issue of tariffs.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that China and the United States have not conducted consultations or negotiations on the issue of tariffs.
On April 24, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiajun presided over a regular press conference. A reporter asked whether it could be confirmed that the US and China have started negotiations, as the US has been continuously releasing news suggesting that the two countries are in talks and may even reach an agreement. Guo Jiajun replied, "These are all false rumors." He stated that to his knowledge, the US and China have not engaged in negotiations or discussions on the tariff issue, let alone reached an agreement. The tariff war was initiated by the US, and China's attitude has always been consistent and clear: willing to fight to the end and open to dialogue and negotiations, which must be equal, respectful, and mutually beneficial.
