Hecla Mining Company (HL.US) announced on Tuesday that its copper and silver exploration project in Libby, Montana has been approved under the Trump administration's critical minerals program and successfully included in the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council's FAST-41 permit dashboard. This means that the project's environmental review and authorization process will be publicly scheduled, providing greater transparency for all stakeholders.
As one of the first 10 U.S. Fast-41 projects designated by the Trump administration, the Libby exploration project will benefit from increased interagency transparency, coordination, and oversight. Hecla Mining Company President and CEO Rob Krcmarov stated, "Attaining this priority status underscores the strategic importance of developing domestic silver and copper resources and helps streamline the remaining permit processes as we advance towards final decision records."
