Prior to the annual GTC conference, Wells Fargo & Company stated that the recent sharp decline in the stock price of NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) in the past few weeks is a "buying opportunity" and gave the stock a "hold" rating with a target price of $185. NVIDIA Corporation is set to hold its annual GTC conference in San Jose, California from March 17th to 21st, focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), graphic technology, and areas such as humanoid Siasun Robot & Automation. Analyst Aaron Rakers from Wells Fargo & Company mentioned that over the past five years, NVIDIA Corporation's stock price has outperformed the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index by 7 percentage points during the week of the GTC conference and by 2.4 percentage points in the two weeks following the conference. Rakers added that the average return rates were 6.4% and 4.5%, respectively, and noted that the current stock price is trading at a discount of approximately 35% compared to the average price-earnings ratio of the past three years. Rakers expects five main topics to be discussed at the conference, including Co-Packaged Optics (CPO). He stated that "many investors are paying attention" to NVIDIA Corporation's stance on this. Rakers mentioned, "While we are surprised to see Co-Packaged Optics/Silicon Photonics (SiPho) show up at the GPU level at this year's conference (potentially in its next-gen Rubin architecture), industry reports/surveys continue to indicate that this year's event will showcase some CPO integration into NVIDIA Corporation's switch/networking product portfolio. We believe that at this year's GTC conference, NVIDIA Corporation may introduce CPO integration into its Quantum InfiniBand product portfolio, which, to some extent, is expected." Other key topics expected to be discussed include the launch of Blackwell Ultra (GB300), with a focus on inference. Rakers explained, "NVIDIA Corporation has indicated that GB300 will begin deliveries in the third quarter of 2025; recent management comments emphasize confidence in the company's production ramp-up." It is expected that GB300 will utilize the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Sponsored ADR CoWoS-L packaging, similar to what the GB200 series GPUs use. Other key topics expected at the GTC conference include post-training and testing time extension, with an emphasis on inference; Spectrum Ultra X800; and the expansion of Nvidia NVLink. Rakers also added that the conference may further discuss how NVIDIA Corporation plans to monetize its software, utilize the Blackwell architecture, expand Project DIGITS, and provide an update on its automotive business. As of the close on Tuesday, NVIDIA Corporation rose 1.66% to $108.76. The stock has dropped nearly 13% so far this month.
