Recently, the mainland Chinese universal AI Agent "Manus" that sparked hot discussions in the tech industry had its official X account frozen yesterday, alleging a violation of platform rules. In response, Manus co-founder and chief scientist Ji Yichao released a statement on X, stating that the company is actively working with the X team to resolve the issue. Ji Yichao stated that their initial observations suggest that this freeze may be related to third-party mentions of cryptocurrency scams. He clarified that Manus has never been involved in cryptocurrency projects, token issuance, or blockchain initiatives, and any cryptocurrency companies with similar names claiming to be associated with Manus are fraudulent. The company is taking legal action against these imposters and encourages users to report suspicious accounts.
Mainland Chinese AI startup Monica announced earlier this week the launch of Manus, which can turn user ideas into finished products. Different from the typical AI large model question-and-answer framework, according to Monica's official website, Manus can combine mind and action, execute tasks after thinking, and provide users with the desired results. Manus can independently search for information on the internet, write Python code for analysis, and generate text reports, web pages, or images based on user requests. Use cases shared by the company and early users show that Manus can be used for analyzing stock performance, screening job applicants' resumes, planning travel itineraries, and transcribing classroom recordings into notes.
Manus' founder is a young "post-90s" serial entrepreneur named Xiao Hong, who graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology with a major in software engineering, younger than DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng.
