On March 4th, the General Administration of Customs announced that recently, Chinese customs found cocklebur and seed coats in imported American soybeans. To protect the health of Chinese consumers and ensure the safety of imported food, in accordance with the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China and its implementation regulations, the Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Import and Export Food Inspection and Quarantine, as well as relevant provisions of the World Trade Organization's Agreement on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, the General Administration of Customs has decided to temporarily suspend the qualification for the import of soybeans from three companies: CHS Inc. (Chinese registration number: QUSA0824071600058), LOUIS DREYFUS COMPANY GRAINS MERCHANDISING LLC (Chinese registration numbers: QUSA0823071500143, QUSA0824071600057), and EGT, LLC (Chinese registration number: QUSA0823071500087).
