Hong Kong announced the appointment of mandatory provident fund scheme authority, reappointing Paul Chan Mo-po as chairman of the fund.
On March 4th, the Hong Kong SAR government announced the reappointment of Mr. Lau Mai Ka Hin as the Chairman and Non-Executive Director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) in Hong Kong.
On March 4th, the Hong Kong SAR government announced the reappointment of Mrs. Diana Liu as the Chairperson and Non-Executive Director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA). At the same time, Mr. Chow Siu Sung, Dr. Law Kam Wing, as well as the reappointment of Mr. Philip Pang, Mr. Dominic Tang, Dr. Roger Ng, and Ms. Irene Wong as Non-Executive Directors of the MPFA were announced. These appointments will take effect from March 17th, 2025 until March 16th, 2027, for a period of two years.
When announcing these appointments, the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Christopher Hui, stated, "Mrs. Diana Liu was first appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the MPFA in 2017, and became the Chairperson in 2021. During her current term, she led the executive team of the MPFA in the development and launch of the MPF Express platform, improving operational efficiency and creating cost reduction space for the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) system. We believe that under Mrs. Liu's leadership, the MPFA will continue to fulfill its statutory role in optimizing the MPF system."
Christopher Hui continued, "I take this opportunity to welcome Mr. Chow Siu Sung and Dr. Law Kam Wing to the MPFA board. We are confident that with their respective professional knowledge and experience in the labor and business sectors, the MPFA will continue to strengthen its role in retirement protection through the MPF system and safeguard the interests of plan members." Christopher Hui also thanked departing Non-Executive Directors, Mr. Stephen Lam and Mr. Timothy Tsai, for their dedicated service and valuable insights over the past few years.
