According to media reports, Nokia Oyj Sponsored ADR will be the first company to deploy a 4G network on the moon. This technology will be used in the IM-2 mission of "Intuitive Machines," a subsidiary of NASA, marking the first time that mobile communication technology similar to that on Earth will be introduced to the moon. This achievement aligns with NASA's "Artemis" program goal of establishing sustainable human presence on the moon.
The report states that Nokia Oyj Sponsored ADR's 4G LTE network will significantly improve communication efficiency for future space missions, lay the foundation for interstellar communication, and ensure stable data transmission. The "Intuitive Machines" Athena lander carrying this lunar network was successfully launched on February 26th, with a target of the lunar south pole and an expected landing date of March 6, 2025. In addition, the lander has transmitted the latest space images, providing real-time updates for the mission.
