OKURA HOLDINGS (01655) released its financial results for the six months ended December 31, 2024, with a revenue decrease of approximately 0.1% to around 3.188 billion Japanese Yen; period profit attributable to the company's shareholders decreased by about 54.7% to around 505 million Japanese Yen; and basic earnings per share were approximately 0.84 Japanese Yen.
For the first six months of the 2025 fiscal year, the revenue from the Japanese pachinko and pachislot game arcade business remained the group's main source of revenue, accounting for approximately 92.0% of the total group revenue (compared to approximately 92.4% in the first six months of the 2024 fiscal year). The decrease in total revenue was mainly due to the closure of the K's Plaza Ohato store in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan on January 9, 2024, resulting in a decrease of approximately 150 million Japanese Yen in revenue from the Japanese pachinko and pachislot businesses as well as vending machine revenue. This decrease was offset by the following factors: (i) an increase of approximately 136 million Japanese Yen from revenue generated by the Japanese pachinko and pachislot businesses in other game arcades within the group, mainly due to increased customer traffic for certain intelligent pachislot and pachinko machines in the first six months of the 2025 fiscal year; (ii) an increase in rental income of approximately 14 million Japanese Yen, including a property rental income increase of approximately 3 million Japanese Yen from finding a new tenant for one of the group's investment properties in September 2024, and an increase of approximately 7 million Japanese Yen in rental parking income due to the closure of the K's Plaza Ohato free parking lot in January 2024.
