The Hong Kong Stock Exchange today announced that it will launch six new categories of stock options on March 17, 2025.
On February 28, HKEX announced today that it will launch six new stock option categories on March 17, 2025. The new options include Midea Group Co., Ltd (00300), CHINA RES POWER (00836), HUA HONG SEMI (01347), CHINAHONGQIAO (01378), HAIER SMARTHOME (06690), and NEW ORIENTAL-S (09901). The position limit for all options, except HUA HONG SEMI which is 100,000 contracts, is 50,000 contracts.
HKEX's derivatives market had an average daily trading volume of 1.550593 million contracts in 2024, a 15% increase year-on-year and a record high. Among them, stock options are one of the most actively traded products, with an average daily trading volume of 720,297 contracts last year setting a record high, and since November, weekly expiring contracts have been added for investors to choose from.
