HSBC Holdings (00005) announced that on February 11, 2025, it has purchased 3.6732 million ordinary shares with a face value of $0.5 per share from Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc (Morgan Stanley) for cancellation, as part of the share buyback announced on October 30, 2024.
Following the purchase of these shares, the buyback has been completed. Since the buyback began, the company has repurchased a total of 186 million ordinary shares from the UK stock market at a weighted average price of 7.4862 per share, and 131 million ordinary shares from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at a weighted average price of HK$74.4516 per share for cancellation, with a total cost of approximately $3 billion.
